Official State Dance of South Carolina - The Shag

South Carolina has an official state dance: The Shag!  It originated in North Myrtle Beach during the late 30's and early 40's, when the beach jukeboxes and pavillions played R&B music.  These days, The Shag has its own music aptly named Beach Music.  The dance itself has smooth steps with emphasis on footwook.
