LAKE MURRAY ASSOCIATION PUBLIC MEETING
   The Lake Murray Association will hold its quarterly meeting Tuesday, April 20.  The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at Lexington High School.
   The agenda includes representatives from the sheriffs’ departments in the four counties surrounding the lake.  They will discuss free property checks from the water.
   Also, SCE&G representatives will be on hand.  And, lake property owners will learn how to help prevent run-offs into the lake.

LIGHTHOUSE MARINA WELCOMES JASON LUSK
     The Lighthouse Marina welcomes Jason Lusk, the new manager of Lighthouse Marina.  He replaces Stan Jones, who has accepted a position as manager of Charleston Harbor Marina at Patriot’s Pointe. 
     Lusk has 10 years’ experience in marina management and boat sales. He worked at Lighthouse Marina from 1999 to 2005, when he left to pursue boat sales.  Lusk was the manager preceding Jones.
     He is a 2002 University of South Carolina graduate.  He and his wife, Jennifer, live in Ballentine and are expecting their first child in June.
     “I love working here; it feels good,” Lusk said.  “I feel at home.”  Lusk said he welcomes everyone to come to the marina to meet him.

We had a great time last year raising funds for the youth and their trip to New Orleans. This year funds will go to support a mission trip to Guyana (South America), July 14-23, 2010. Members will work with other churches to renovate a retreat center, conduct a Vacation Bible School program, host a craft workshop, read with children, and visit with families.

SMOKED EASTER HAMS TO BENEFIT MISSIONS.

Mt. Horebs Global Missions will be selling smoked hams for Easter. Proceeds will be used to help offset the cost of a mission trip to Guyana July 14-23, 2010. The cost for each ham is $30. The deadline for placing orders is March 28; pick-up will be on Saturday, April 3 from 12:00-1:00.
JURIED ART SHOW MARCH 15
Crooked Creek Art League will hold a reception for their annual juried art show on Monday, March 15 from 6-8 PM at Crooked Creek Park in Chapin. The juror this year is Lynda English from Florence, SC. The artwork will be hung at Crooked Creek Park from March 1-26. All members, guests and those interested in the arts are invited to attend.
