Friday, November 6. Opening Reception. Russian born Nikolai Oskolkov brings his collection "Laughter in the Sky" to Portfolio Art Gallery in Five Points. This new body of paintings is inspired by the sky filled with the laughter of people enjoying life and the many vibrations of the outdoors. "Laughter in the Sky" features the Blue Ridge Mountains and scenes of South Carolina and Jamaica. Come out for the opening reception with musical performance but the artist from 4-9 pm. Friday, November 6-Saturday, November 7. Pig on the Ridge. Come enjoy one of the Southeast’s best BBQ cook-offs! Friday includes "Anything but Pork” offerings from cook-off teams and the judging will take place on Saturday. Music, entertainment, arts & craft vendors, and a car show round off the two day event. Sunday, November 8. Columbia Signature Chef Auction. The Signature Chefs Auction is an annual, black-tie event which pays tribute to the culinary excellence of leading local chefs, restaurant owners and caterers in the Midlands. In celebration of the City of Forest Acres’ generous support of the re-installation of the Museum’s collection, Family Fun Day where families can create masterpieces at the studio station, explore the Museum’s galleries, enjoy lunch from Forest Acres restaurants, and so much more! Tuesday, November 10. Trustus Wine Tasting. Trustus is once again hosting one of their popular wine tastings to benefit the theatre. Our "Wines From Around the World" benefit will be held at City Art (1224 Lincoln St) in the Vista. The event will begin at 7:00pm and go until 9:00pm. You won't want to miss this fabulous array of vino: 2 reds, 2 whites, 2 champagnes, and 2 ports! Also, heavy hors d'ouevres by Janet Brabham will be served.
