POST 193 ASKS YOUR HELP FOR LOCAL SOLDIER
Chapin resident Rickie McKie is currently serving in Iraq. American Legion Post 193 (with the help of The Greater Chapin Chamber) is preparing a package for him and his fellow soldiers, and would greatly appreciate community involvement.
Donations of wet wipes, toiletries (including toothpaste and visine), DVDs or magazines, sunflower seeds, or candy that can withstand high temperatures can be dropped off at the Chamber House at 302 Columbia Avenue between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. through July 16th.

SC LIVING TO TELL ABOUT CHAPIN
Great News! South Carolina Living, the magazine of the electric cooperatives of South Carolina will be featuring Chapin as our Hometown Pride town of the month in September. There are so many wonderful things about Chapin & we wanted to tell the whole state about them (1.1 million readers monthly).

APPRECIATION DAY FOR PURPLE HEART
Come on out and join our nation’s heroes August 13 at the Lighthouse Marina, 1925 Johnson Marina Road, Chapin.
Military Order of the Purple Heart recipients and families will receive free boat rides starting at 10 a.m., sponsored by Lighthouse Marina. The Fort Jackson Sergeant Majors’ Association will provide food and beverages.
Guest speaker for the event will be the Fort Jackson Post Command Sergeant Major, CSM Brian Stall.
